Help kickstart the next Misisipi Mike record! Only 17 days left to raise the $1500
Hey y’all. This is my attempt to raise the small capital I need to record my next cd. For you it is like buying the cd ahead of time, or buying a poster design in advance, or what have you. No money exchanges hands till the goal is met, and if the goal is not met then the whole thing evaporates and nothing happens. But I hope that I can get 150 people to at least pledge $10, that’s all it takes.
Did you like my last record? Did you hate it?
Well, if you liked it, this one is gonna be even better. I hope to record 10-12 best songs from the 40 or so new country/honkytonk songs I have written since the 2008 release of “Cold Hard Facts”. Many of these are already familiar to my friends and fans as staples of my live set (“Margaret”, “It’s 2 AM (Do You Know Where Your Boots Are”, “Hell Is Other People”). If people have a request from my set that they feel would be a good one on the record, please let me know.
If you hated it, it is going to be soooo much better than that last one!
Yeah, Misisipi, but what are the logistics of such an endeavor?
My crew is going to record the entire record at House of Faith Studios with Bart Thurber working the board in five 3 hour sessions with a sixth planned for mixing and a final session for mastering (22-25 hours total). Instrumentation will include the standard guitar/bass/drums with fiddle and pedal steel where needed. The recording sessions will take place in April 2011.
Following the completion the final masters with artwork will be sent to production for a release date in mid to late May 2011. This date may be pushed back due to House of Faith’s availability, but the goal is to have it done as close to mid May as humanly possible. The initial run will be 1000 copies.
The money pledged will go to paying for the recording studio and any expenses associated with the hiring of personal (musicians). If there is any money left over it will be used to help defray the production costs.
That sounds great, Misisipi. How can I help?
Glad you asked. Head on over to Kickstarter and…
